Darlene’s passion for music led to her start as a design intern for MTV prior to graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology, with a BFA in Advertising and Graphic Design. Since then Cordero has worked with some of the most iconic brands in the entertainment industry including Paramount+, Showtime, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, NBC, CNBC, USA, SYFY, Oxygen, Bravo, A&E, History Channel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. She is an award winning art director and the founder of Cordero Design, an art & design studio based in Brooklyn, New York. Her creative work focuses on conceptual key art and brand identity that spans print, motion, multimedia and digital platforms. Darlene is a developer and AI accelerator of unique and transformative creative through consistent campaigns across all digital multi platform including significant revenue growth with exclusive licensed consumer products. Cordero has been recognized by Promax Awards; regional and international, The Type Directors Club, LIMA, Art Directors Club and has been both recipient and judge of Young Guns, a prestigious talent competition awarding creative professionals.
In addition, Darlene has taught at the Miami Ad School in Florida as an adjunct professor and works closely with her alumni, Fashion Institute of Technology where she continues to provide mentorship for design students and supports her alumni. She is also a certified RYT 500+ Yoga instructor with a specialty in Vinyasa yoga with therapeutic and prenatal certifications. Darlene is of Puerto Rican descent, a proud member of the LGBTQ community, PTA proud Mama and Fundraising Volunteer for Non-Profit Organizations.
